California Prop 65 FAQs

What is Proposition 65?

It became a law in California in 1986, also called the "Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act", it now has 900 chemicals on the list, its purpose is to inform Californians to the exposure or potential exposure to chemicals.

Should I worry about the warning?

This warning is to inform customers that they may be a possibility that the product contains BPA that may cause cancer, birth defects or reproductive harm. However, at 4carfans, we believe that you can confidently enjoy our phone cases without worry as long as you use them for the intended purpose and avoid actions like eating, licking, or smashing them.

In that case, why is there a warning?

As our phone cases are available worldwide including California, we have the obligation to put California's Proposition 65 warning.

Why don't some other manufacturers have this warning?

Very few phone cases are BPA-Free, most tough cases have BPA as it is found in polycarbonates plastics and epoxy resin. At 4carfans, we want to be as transparent with you as possible.
